As soon as I finished processing my brother's baby's newborn photos, I showed them to our good friends Paul and Ashley.  Ashley loved them, was so sweet to encourage me and my talent, and then asked me something to the effect of if I was now doing this as a business and taking photos for other people.  Since a formal business is absolutely NOT the direction I want to go, I immediately and vehemently said NO!  And that was the end of it.

A couple of weeks later, I realized that what Ashley was actually asking me, indirectly, was if I would be available to capture the moments of their little Katelyn.  I quickly contacted them and asked if I could practice a family session with them, and got a resounding yes!

It was my first formal 'family session' and my first session playing with my new upgraded camera.  Katelyn is one of the most laid back babies anyone who has met her has ever seen.  For real.  I am not the only one who feels this way!  [I even have to watch myself whenever we spend time around her, because I find myself getting angry at how darn content this little girl is in comparison to my nonstop, cantankerous, rowdy, impatient, impetuous, insatiable children!]  Despite the fact that Katelyn didn't want to look at me, we ended up with some really great shots that I believe truly capture her beautiful little spirit.   I do very much need to give a huge shout out to my wonderful husband who stood behind me for the second half of the session to make her laugh!
